Stephen Glenn Martin (August 14, 1945) is an American writer, producer, comedian, actor,
musician and composer from Waco, Texas.
Martin worked at Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm as a teenager, which is where he developed
his talents
for magic, juggling, playing the banjo and creating balloon animals.
Martin began his showbiz career in 1967 as a comedy writer for the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.
Martin also wrote for The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour from 1969-1972 and Van Dyke and Company in 1975.
Martin became a household name in 1975 with frequent appearances on NBC's Saturday Night Live.
In 1979, Martin wrote and starred in his first movie, The Jerk, directed by Carl Reiner.
